New concept could be coming to former The Ruckus space in Shorewood

It's been about nine months since The Ruckus closed its doors at 4144 N. Oakland Ave. in Shorewood.

But, something new is on its way to the former burger and ice cream stand. And it could well be a brand new taco concept.

Toro Taco LLC / DBA Taco Super has submitted a liquor license application for the Shorewood location, which will be proposed at a Village Board meeting this evening, Aug. 5. The newly-formed company is operated by BelAir Cantina partners Kristyn Eitel, Leslie Montemurro and Scott Johnson.

Eitel confirmed the submission in a statement this afternoon, saying: "We're in the early stages of debuting a new restaurant concept in Shorewood and the Shorewood Village Board will be discussing our application for a liquor license on Monday evening."

However, she also noted that a decision won't be officially made on the application for another month.

"The board will take a vote on the application at their meeting on Sept. 3. We're hopeful it will be approved, as obtaining our liquor license is an important step in this process. The information in the application was very preliminary and not final. We'll be sharing further details about the new concept for this location soon."

So, get excited. Something new is coming. We'll have all the details for you as soon as they become available.
