Make plans for a foodie getaway during Lake Geneva Restaurant Week

Thinking about an early summer getaway? How about planning a trip to Lake Geneva to enjoy two of the areas foodie traditions, Taste of Lake Geneva and Lake Geneva Restaurant Week?

Taste of Lake Geneva takes place on Saturday, June 2 at Flat Iron Park, located just off the Lake between Wrigley Drive and Center Street. Admission is just $2 and entitles attendees to sample their way through some of the areas best restaurants (samples range from $3 to $9 each), enjoy food demos, live music, beer and wine at a beautiful lakeside setting.

The event is a kick-off of sorts for Lake Geneva Restaurant Week, an annual event which takes place June 3-10 at approximately 25 restaurants in the area. The week features special prix fixe menus for breakfast ($8), two course lunches ($10) and three course dinners for either $25 or $35. Reservations are recommended for the event, which attracts thousands of residents and visitors each year.

This year, thanks to Lake Geneva Country Meats, the event also features a Charity Check, allowing dining guests to vote for a participating charity to receive a $5,000 donation. This year's nonprofits include Walworth County Walk to End Alzheimer's, Open Arms Free Clinic, Tree House Child & Family Center, Big Foot Emergency Food Pantry, and Kisses from Keegan & Friends a Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
