A new Latin restaurant has opened its doors at 5823 W. Burnham St. That's the former home of Antigua Latin-Inspired Kitchen, which moved to 6207 W. National Ave. last October.

La Costeña, which is owned and operated by Hugo Ramirez-Hernandez and his brothers, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Among breakfast dishes are items like breakfast burritos, huevos con chorizo and chilaquiles along with omelettes, skillets and sweet options like pancakes, crepes, French toast and waffles. Most items are priced in the $7.99-$9.99 range.

The restaurant also operates a full bar that serves brunch drinks like bloody marys and mimosas along with drinks like margaritas and a selection of both imported and domestic beers.

Lunch and dinner offerings include items like salads, wraps, burgers and sandwiches (priced in the $8-13 range) along with Mexican options like tacos, burritos, chimichangas and tostadas available both individually or as a meal with rice and beans.

House specials include fajitas (chicken, steak or shrimp, $12.95-$15.95), carne asada ($15.95) and costillas de res ala plancha (grilled beef ribs) and parrillada ($17.99). There are also seafood options including camarones ala diabla ($15.99) and mojarra al mojo de aho (whole fried fish served with rice, potato salad and tortillas, $13.99).

La Costeña Cafe is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
