How does sunshine, beer and avocado toast sound?

It's time for patio lunches at Good City Brewing

Beginning next Monday, there will be a new East Side spot to enjoy lunch every day of the week.

Starting May 21, Good City Brewing, 2108 N. Farwell Ave., will open its doors daily for lunch service beginning at 11 a.m. Even better, due to popular demand, lunch service will extend to the rooftop patio until 3 p.m. (with beer-only service on the patio after 3 p.m.).

What you can eat

Beer is a given. But when it comes to lunching, the new menu will include a selection of snacks, salads, sandwiches and entrees prepared by Good City Chef Guy Davies.

Brand new menu items include a Banh Mi sandwich with sweet and tangy pickled vegetables, nduja and cucumbers on toasted French baguette ($9); a Cuban sandwich featuring beer-braised pulled pork, Genoa salami, pickles, Swiss cheese and tangy mustard on a Sciortino's Cuban bun ($12); and avocado toast with hummus, avocado, cherry tomatoes and arugula on toasted "everything" bread with a pinch of togarashi ($9, pictured above).

Other highlights include snacks like sauteed baby portabella mushrooms in garlic butter served with baked baguette ($8) and housemade hummus with marinated olives, cucumber and flatbread ($8).

There's a summery Greek salad with cucumber, tomato, kalamata olives, red onion, frisée and chunks of grilling cheese with olive oil lemon dressing ($14).

Sandwiches include the Barramundi Po Boy with blackened Australian sea bass, lettuce, tomato, and pickles on a Sciortino's hoagie bun with garlic herb sauce ($14) and the vegetarian Impossible Burger topped with lettuce, tomato, avocado, pickles, and Sriracha Russian sauce and your choice of cheese ($16).

Of course, we advise you opt for the exceedingly delicious Brew Burger featuring a half-pound beef patty, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onion, pickles, and your choice of cheese with Sriracha Russian sauce ($13). It's currently the top-rated burger in our Milwaukee Burger Trail series.

Meanwhile, entrees include Nicoise salad with green beans, cherry tomato, salt cured olives, boiled egg, and fingerling potatoes with blackened or pan seared Ahi Tuna ($16); veggie or chicken laksa, a Malaysian curry with egg noodles, bean sprouts, sauteed vegetables, Simple Soyman Organic Tofu, cilantro and lime ($13/18); and the Brewery's Pilsner Mac & Cheese featuring Good City Pils, Deer Creek aged white cheddar and cavatappi noodles served with pretzel bread ($13 or $18 with sausage).

Good City Brewing is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
