Creative burger ideas wanted for Georgie Porgie's annual burger contest
Got a golden burger idea up your sleeve? Here's your chance to get it on the menu at Georgie Porgie's Treefort Restaurants.
Georgie Porgie's Treefort Restaurants in Oak Creek and Mt. Pleasant have announced the launch of their fourth annual burger contest, a competition during which customers can submit their most creative burger concepts for potential inclusion as one Georgie Porgie's featured specials.
But you need to act quickly. Entries must be submitted on the Georgie Porgie's website by Thursday, May 17.
In the end, only five entries will be selected. Those will be presented to a panel of local judges including Milwaukee Brewers All Star Closer Corey Knebel, Bullpen Catcher Marcus Hanel and Third Base Coach Ed Sedar; Brian Kramp of Fox 6 Real Milwaukee, WISN 12 meteorologist Lindsey Slater (and myself) on Thursday, May 24 at 11:30 a.m.
The judging event is open to the public, and all in attendance will have the opportunity to taste the top five burgers.
Past winners have included gut-busters like Curd is the Word, Taste of Wisconsin and the Pudgie Porker burger. And trust me when I say, there's always some stiff competition among the top five entries.
The burger selected as the favorite by the judges will be featured as the restaurant's burger of the month in June. The winning entry will also receive a FREE burger of the month for a year and a party for 20. Other finalists will receive a $25 gift card to Georgie Porgie's.
"This contest is a great way for members of our community to share their delicious burger ideas with us," noted co-owner Pete Liapis of the contest.
"Our staff always loves creating ideas; but it's even more fun to have the ideas come from our customers and members of the community. And the prize attached to it just adds some extra fun to an already cool opportunity," added co-owner Louie Liapis.
