DiModa launches new patio-friendly menu meant for casual summer dining
DiModa Pizza, 1758 N. Water St., has changed its menu just in time for patio season.
The new menu capitalizes on pizza – an item the restaurant does best – along with a host of appetizers meant for sharing.
Among the options is the Menage a Trois, a flashback favorite which was served at the former Trocadero. This trio of spreads includes tomato-based bruschetta spread, hummus and Boursin cheese paired with soft pita triangles and cucumbers (go gluten-free by skipping the pitas) for $12.
There are also options like zucchini fritters served with balsamic honey ($7), a meant-to-be-shared antipasto platter featuring a chef's selection of cured meats, cheeses, relishes and dips ($18) and creamy cheese dip with smoked mozzarella, grande mozzarella and parmesan baked and served with crostini ($8).
Woodstone pizza options include the popular "Chop Shop" build your own pizza ($12, with additional toppings at $0.75 each) along with fresh signature pizzas like the So Fresh with fresh mozzarella, blistered grape tomatoes, almond lemon pesto and basil ($14) and the Shroomy, with roasted wild mushrooms, truffle-porcini white sauce, Taleggio cheese, garlic, chives and truffle oil ($15).
The menu also includes a variety of fresh salads, including classic Caesar ($11) and The Trocadero with spring mix, cherry tomatoes, red onion, candied walnuts, crumbled blue cheese and balsamic vinaigrette ($12)
There are also sandwiches, from meatball subs and burgers to chicken parmesan, priced $11-16; and well-priced pasta dishes like the Pesto Fresca featuring tagliatelle pasta, heirloom cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, arugula and parmesan ($15).
Something many folks don't know about DiModa is that its patio is dog-friendly. In fact, the restaurant has upped the ante for dog-loving guests with a special dog menu, which features items like "Bowser Beer" (choice of chicken or beef flavoring, $4), Scooby snacks (chicken-flavored Fromm dog treats, $2), and even entrees like a pup patty (burger, $4) or puparoni pizza ($5). If your pup needs a bit more distraction, there are roasted pig's ears for chewing ($3) or cooling treats like dog-treat-studded peanut butter gelato ($3).
So grab your pooch, a few appetizers, some pizza and a group of your closest friends and make the most of our brief Milwaukee summer.
DiModa is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Brunch is served on both Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
