Start your day off right with Crafty Cow's new Biscuit Boys brunch pop-up
All restaurants are shifting and adjusting in these uncertain times – but few have taken on the challenge with more aplomb than Crafty Cow. The Bay View burger restaurant created a virtual hot wing challenge and developed three special pop-up menus – one that's now getting a revamp.
Crafty Cow has reinvented its bunch takeout and delivery menu – previously themed Brunch & Chill – as a collection of biscuit-based breakfast items, sandwiches and more called Biscuit Boys.
As you'd assume from the name, the biscuits are the star of the show, stacking breakfast favorites and tasty brunch combinations in between a biscuit. Options include the Hot Boy, a breakfast biscuit take on Nashville hot chicken complete with chicken gravy and pickles; the Brisket Biscuit, piling beer brisket, hollandaise, American cheese, peppers, hot sauce and egg; the Sweet Boy with fried chicken, bacon and maple syrup; and the (Milwaukee-only) Ham N Cheezit, piling ham and pimento cheese on a biscuit base.
There's also the Basic Biscuit, featuring fried chicken, lettuce, tomato, bacon and a white barbecue sauce; the Brunch Boy with sausage, cheddar, fried egg and gravy; and the Pigscuit, putting fried chicken, pulled bacon, fried egg, sport peppers and bacon jam.
And, of course, it wouldn't be a biscuit-based menu without the most famous of biscuit breakfasts: biscuits and gravy, which come together on the Gravy Boy sandwich.
For those biased against biscuits, Crafty Cow's new brunch menu has something for you as well. The "Not a Biscuit" section features several sandwiches, including a chicken and waffles sammy; a breakfast sandwich stacking pork belly, sausage patty, fried egg, fig jam and muenster cheese on a doughnut bun; and a Denver omelette burger, piling American cheese, poblano peppers, jam, fried egg and hot sauce hollandaise on a burger stuffed with pepper jack cheese, all in between a doughnut bun.
The menu also has some classic breakfast platters as well, such as chicken and waffles, brunch poutine and a breakfast burrito with tater tots, scrambled eggs, bourbon bacon, pepper jack cheese, peppers and salsa. The burrito is a Milwaukee location only option – but those ordering from Crafty Cow's Oconomowoc location get an avocado toast item with tomato, avocado, bacon, fried eggs, Brussels sprouts and the hot sauce hollandaise.
"Our goal was to create brunch options that were a little more inventive than your standard eggs and bacon and that would also hold up to travel better with everything being carry-out/delivery," said Crafty Cow chef and owner Devin Eichler. "Biscuit Boys brings a little slice of comfort to your home in the form of soft, fluffy, pillowy goodness that will make you feel like you're getting a bear hug with every bite."
To order yourself a biscuit-happy brunch, go to Crafty Cow's website. (This pop-up menu is not available on Grubhub or UberEats.) Because things may feel wrong during this quarantine, but at least you can still start the day off right.
