Char'd, a Korean BBQ restaurant, to open this week in Historic Third Ward

Late last year our Lori Fredrich shared a new concept was coming the Historic Third Ward in the previous Hinterland space. Well, Korean barbecue is almost here as Char'd has set its opening date for May 17.

According to general manager Hank Kim, Char'd will open as a casual café during the day, serving coffee and smoothies alongside with light meals suitable for lunch. You can try the smoothies at 50 percent off during the opening week ... bonus!

The space will transition into a full-service grill restaurant and bar for the evenings. Offerings will include tapas-style sharable plates, signature grill & ssam with creative cocktails.

Milwaukee doesn't exactly have an abundance of Korean barbecue places to choose from, so what you can expect?

Hank shared that, "Char'd is named by harmonizing perfectly charred meats meet with fresh greens (such as Swiss chard) for a nutritious balance. Our signature grill & ssam menu introduces interactive dining experience of searing delicious Korean BBQ meats on sizzling lava stones, so the very last bite is as delicious and fresh as the first. Enjoy our ssam (lettuce wrap), a fun way to intake fresh spread of leafy greens with juicy meats."

Well, I personally can't wait to check this out. Who's with me? See you there.
