Milwaukee's best takeout, 2017
Season's eatings! The weather may be getting colder, but Dining Month on OnMilwaukee is just cooking up, dishing out your winning picks in this year's Best of Dining poll. Dining Month is brought to you by Fein Brothers, your premier food service equipment and supply dealer in Wisconsin since 1929. Congratulations to all of the winners, and happy eating for all those who voted! See all the winners for the month so far here.
It was a tight race in the best of dining poll between Glorioso's and Jake's Deli for Milwaukee's best takeout, but a few more voters picked the classic Brady Street sandwich shop, deli and Italian market as their top choice.
Glorioso's takeout options are certainly plentiful, with fan favorites including freshly sliced meats and cheeses, housemade meatballs and Italian beef, and sandwiches like the Caprese with tomatoes, mozzarella and balsamic vinaigrette, and the Human Torch filled with hot capicollo, hot calabrese, Glorioso's famous torch spread, provolone and hot muffalatta.
Editors' pick: Cafe India
Lori Fredrich's pick: Ono Kine Grindz
Once again, I'm giving this one to a spot that's made takeout its bread and butter. Ono Kine Grindz rocks it to the heavens with its delicious Hawaiian takeout. In fact, sometimes I wonder how the west side of town ever got along without the place and its kick-butt Kahlua pork and tuna poke.
