Milwaukee's best pizza, 2018

Season's eatings! The weather may be getting colder, but Dining Month on OnMilwaukee is just cooking up, dishing out your winning picks in this year's Best of Dining poll. Dining Month is brought to you by Fein Brothers, your premier food service equipment and supply dealer in Wisconsin since 1929. Congratulations to all of the winners, and happy eating for all those who voted!

Transfer Pizza

The only thing hotter than the pizza in Milwaukee is the competition for the title of Brew City's best slice. Local legend Zaffiro's held the crown for several years before Transfer Pizza knocked it off the throne in 2015. Transfer's reign was short-lived, however, as the reinvigorated Pizza Man took the top prize the past two years ... only for Transfer to rise again this year and reclaim its place on the podium.

It's basically like "Game of Thrones" ... but with pizza. And the only red stuff spilling anywhere is tomato sauce.

Sure, that's a joke – but how intense was this category this year? Transfer took the top spot by a mere eight votes – all while Balistreri's and Zaffiro's were within 30 votes, as well. Then there's Classic Slice creeping into fifth place, plotting its surge to the throne. Meanwhile, OnMilwaukee sided with the Calderone Club for its editors' pick, and food expert Lori Fredrich went with Wy'East.

Tune in next year to see where the drama goes next. And remember: Winter is coming ... which is a great excuse to eat more hot, delicious pizza.
