Milwaukee's best French/Cajun/Creole restaurant, 2019

Le Reve & Maxie's

Pretty much as long as we've been doing this readers poll, Maxie's has won in the old Southern/soul food category and and in more recent years, in the French/Cajun/Creole category, thanks to its famed low-country cuisine.

What has typically been a tight race at the top got even tighter this year, when Le Reve boosted its point total to end up in a tie with Maxie's, meaning you love not only French-influenced cuisine, but also the food of France, too.

Rounding out the top five were familiar favorites like Lake Park Bistro and Crawdaddy's on Greenfield, along with relative newcomer Fauntleroy, which was also dining writer Lori Fredrich's pick.

Meanwhile, the OnMilwaukee editorial staff selected Le Reve as its favorite in this category.

Runners-up:
3. Lake Park Bistro
4. Fauntleroy
5. Crawdaddy's on Greenfield

OnMilwaukee editors' pick: Le Reve

Lori Fredrich's pick: Fauntleroy
