Milwaukee's best cafe/diner, 2018
Season's eatings! The weather may be getting colder, but Dining Month on OnMilwaukee is just cooking up, dishing out your winning picks in this year's Best of Dining poll. Dining Month is brought to you by Fein Brothers, your premier food service equipment and supply dealer in Wisconsin since 1929. Congratulations to all of the winners, and happy eating for all those who voted!
OnMilwaukee readers voted Comet Cafe as the top cafe … again!
This cozy little spot on the East Side serves food until midnight every day. Enjoy feel-good favorites at this diner such as open-faced meatloaf and sandwiches such as the turkenstein, the French dunk and the reuben. This vegan and vegetarian friendly restaurant also has eats such as the gyro and the artichoke melt.
Enjoy craft beers and signature cocktails at the bar, open until 2:30 a.m. nightly, as well as coffee drinks and other non-alcoholic beverages. Brunch is only served on weekends from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Dessert, including cupcakes, fruit pies and cream pies, are made in-house from scratch from local ingredients.
