The Milverine has a dog
A grainy image of the Loch Ness Monster's long neck and back emerging above the water. A blurry shot of Big Foot casually lumbering across a forest landscape. A slick silver UFO saucer hovering well above the Earth's surface. All iconic images that inspire myth and legend beyond the realm of reality, reason and imagination.
And while we're on that topic, here's a photo – courtesy of Thomas Hauck of c. 1880 – of the Milverine walking with what appears to be an adorable new puppy.
Computer, zoom and do not particularly enhance!
Hmm, that certainly looks like a precious little white pup trotting along with what could possibly be the Milverine – though there's a lot more shirt going on here than expected. Maybe if there was something more conclusive about the Milverine having a tiny white puppy. I want to believe!
And so it would seem that Milwaukee's number one mythical cat (sorry, Milwaukee Lion) has a cute little legendary beast of his own. I shall name him the Pupperine. Or maybe James Howlett. Or, depending on the breed, Shih Tzu Jackman. And hopefully we can get some better, closer photos of him in the wild in the future.
And, before you ask, yes, it is a slow news day – but what better way to kill the Monday blues than seeing a dog and a cat walking peacefully together.
