Take a lunch break with board games thanks to the new Downtown GO! Kart
We've had little free libraries throughout the city of Milwaukee for a while. Now we have a little free board game shelf.
Today, Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 introduced the Downtown GO! Kart, providing more than 25 tabletop games – from Jenga to classic chess to Sorry! and many, many more – to rent for free in the heart of the city.
"We understand that great public spaces come to life through interaction and activation," said Beth Weirick, CEO of Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21, in a press release. "The Downtown GO! Kart is a technology-free, hands-on activity that will bring unmatched energy to West Wisconsin Avenue."
The Downtown GO! Kart – which will also feature free WiFi – will be open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at the plaza at 310 W. Wisconsin Ave. before closing up shop on Friday, Sept. 28 and moving to the ASQ Center's river skywalk on Monday, Oct. 1. The board game bonanza will then return to 310 W. Wisconsin Ave. for the summer season next year.
For more information, seasonal hours and – most importantly – what board games the Downtown GO! Kart will offer, visit the BID's website.
