Even bad times require a good laugh.

The Morning Laugh: 5 funny videos and memes to start your day with a smile

The coronavirus pandemic has changed our everyday life, but it doesn't need to change who we are. So, in addition to our ongoing coverage of the coronavirus, OnMilwaukee will continue to report on cool, fun, inspiring and strange stories from our city and beyond. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay informed and stay joyful. We're all in this together. #InThisTogetherMKE

We want to help – so to start your day with a smile, we're going to post five funny viral videos and memes every morning. Because there's no better time for a good laugh than during bad times, and we believe in starting the day on the right foot even when things feel like they're all going wrong.

Enjoy – then be safe, be smart and be healthy. We're in this together.

1. The Barefoot Quarantine

Celeb chef Ina Garten took to social media this week to offer a drink recipe – though calling this merely a "drink" seems woefully inaccurate. It's more like an alcoholic moat – and I'm not sure Jeffrey got even a sip.

I'm not sure whether we should be concerned about Ina Garten or if Ina Garten is social distancing better than all of us.

2. Drum solo(ish)

Some people are taking this time apart to learn a new instrument. This man, on the other hand, learned how to do ... this:

He's like the Blue Man Group or "Stomp," but for dads.

3. News you can use

Because we're all responsibly flattening the curve, most of us are working from home these days – including news reporters. But just because they're away from rowdy, unpredictable crowds doesn't mean that they're safe from an unwanted guest crashing their news segments.

Reporting live from an increasing untenable housing situation, that's Jessica Lang for SNN TV.

4. April Fool's Day gone wrong

Here this guy was, thinking he was about to deliver an excellent prank and liven up everyone's day. Well, he certainly accomplished the second part!

I feel confident in calling him the April fool this year.

5. An important reminder from Samuel L. Jackson

Sam Jackson has HAD IT with these MUTHA F*CKIN' people on these MUTHA F*CKIN' beaches.

Bonus breather

To help you cope with the rest of your day of social distancing, here's a little bonus breathing exercise to calm the nerves and provide a little digital therapy.
