Today, Sunday 6/28/09 at 4:30pm, I ordered a egg, cheese and bacon bagel. I didn't realize that the eggs on the bagel were pre-made microwaved eggs. It doesn't say anywhere on the menu that different eggs are used for bagels, you should update your menu to avoid confusion. The egg on the sandwich didn't look like a regular egg so I asked the cashier, she got the cook and he explained that is was a pre-made egg patty is microwaved and served on the bagel sandwiches, other breakfast sandwiches use real fresh eggs. The cashier and cook didn't offer any solution to the problem. So I asked if one fresh egg could be scrambled so I could swap it out with the microwaved "egg". The cook said sure, but the cashier told me I would be charged another $1.50 for the egg. I had only eaten 30% of the sandwich, I didn't want to pay another $1.50 for a real egg. I didn't want to eat the rest of the sandwich because it didn't taste good, so I asked for my money back. The cashier said "Sorry, all sales are final." If I wanted to eat microwaved eggs I would go to McDonald's. All of this could have been avoided if they would have corrected the error and gave me a new egg at no charge. In the past 2 months we have gone to Sven's 5 times, and have found the service has been questionable and inconsistent, but the food has always been good. Today's experience was not what we expected from a local business competing with many other local businesses. We will no longer be returning to Sven's Cafe and will no longer be recommending it to our friends and family. Good day.
