Once again, OnMilwaukee.com readers picked La Cage as the city's best LGBT bar. Riverwest's Art Bar and Walker's Pint in the Walker's Point neighborhood tied for second.

La Cage is Milwaukee's oldest LGBT dance club, with two dance floors, four bars, mega video screens, drag shows, theme nights and new and retro extended-mix dance songs cranking all night long. Gay, straight or undefined, this club is a fun place to cut the rug while enjoying reasonably priced drinks.

Second-place winner Art Bar has a totally different vibe. With rotating, provocative art shows and live music, Art Bar draws an eclectic group of people for coffee, happy hours and late-night entertainment. And finally, Walker's Pint is Milwaukee's longest-running lesbian bar with a down-to-earth feel and fun bartenders.

OMG, what a joke. Art bar isn't even a gay bar. I can only assume this list was compiled by the lesbians that run OM.com

I'm neither supporting or disputing the choices, but "janemarek" is just ignorant. I picture her never putting her agoraphobic foot out her front door. Ooh, it's the big scary city! (It's okay, Jane, you can still take remedial English courses online.)

You have got to be kidding. I'd rather go to straight clubs than step foot in La Cage.

What endless propaganda! Do the bar owners pay the "reporters" for the glowing reviews? Fact: Gay bar owners have personally profited from the sale of drugs in their bars (if not actually sponsoring it). George, a LaCage previous owner is a prime example of this). I also recall the great big silence from the "in crowd" as LACage sneaked in underage-ers through the basement door and not passed card checkers or other customers in line. How many gays have become coke users and weed smokers having been pressured to use in this bar? Hundreds? More? I am sure this post (stating facts and past history ) of LACAGE will be deleted as offensive or libelous. The truth about nearly every gay bar/business in the 5th ward and drugs is criminal (how many owners have been arrested-lots!)

Why on Earth would this bar be chosen as one of Milwaukee's Finest bars/ night clubs?? The patrons and employees in La Cage sell tons of cocaine and other illegal drugs in the bar. I know this for a fact, because when I used to drink and do cocaine, this was the main night club that I would go and buy it at! I even reported the drug selling to the police once, and also provided some of the cocaine that I had just purchased from there. The District 2 police officer just took the cocaine and tossed it in the trash and told me that if I knew what was best for me, I'd forget all about the selling of drugs in La Cage, and never report it again. I also know for a Fact that La Cage has a reputation for allowing minors to come into the establishment and drink alcohol. I had several 16 year old females (real females) and even some 17 year old queer males come up to me and wanted me to party with them. When I told the bartender about the minors, because I had asked them their age, he told me not to worry about it, that those were good friends of his and other employees. He told me that as long as they were close friends and almost like family, it was ok and legal to serve them. I guess he thought I was an idiot. I reported this also to District 2 police, and again I was told that I best just forget about it. If these are the kind of negative business practices that can be picked and praised as best bars/ night clubs, I am darn glad that I quit drinking. Personally, I would want No Part of illegal establishments like La Cage. I have always been a proud citizen of Milwaukee, WI, and it has been my home for over 15 years now, but when I read about illegal businesses like La Cage being chosen as best spots to go, it saddens me, and I am ashamed of our fair city. Thanks for reading!
