The St. Louis Cardinals left town late Monday night.
The Rams are coming in late July.
The Rams have decided to conduct their training camp at Concordia University in Mequon.
The National Football League team conducted its three previous camps at its regular practice complex, Rams Park, in St. Louis, but head coach Scott Linehan decided he wanted to take the camp on the road this year.
Concordia, which has two FieldTurf fields and a new dormitory, won the hosting duties over the UW-Whitewater and Western Illinois University, which had hosted the club from 1996-2004.
Concordia is located about 395 miles from St. Louis, but Rams fans shouldn't have any trouble finding the place. The Cardinals draw hundreds of red-clad fans every time they visit Miller Park.
Unfortunately for St. Louis fans, there won't be any doubleheaders. Albert Pujols, Tony La Russa and the Cardinals have played six games in Milwaukee this season and don't visit Milwaukee again in '08 unless it is in the National League Championship Series.
At about the time the Rams are opening camp, the Brewers will be playing at Busch Stadium. Milwaukee has two more road series left with the Cardinals -- July 21-24 and Aug. 26-27.
