I fully expect them to choke in the playoffs, tho. Why can't the Vikings eat cereal or soup? Bc they choke whenever they get near the bowl.

What a difference a year makes
Last time this year, Milwaukee was running wild with Brewer fever.

This time last year, I was addicted to major league baseball.

With the Brewers in the running for the playoffs, the work day included plenty of Brewers talk and field trips to the Palomino to watch the games. I distinctly remember spending a 10 hour stint with bartender Bill Rouleau at the Palomino, watching game after game.

And now, this year? I bought a nine pack for the season and only went to opening day. I went to several games at the beginning of the year but not one in the last two months. Last year, I shocked my family by being able to talk baseball but this year, back to silence when conversation turns to the Brew Crew.

No doubt, I still love the Brewers and hopefully, next year things will take the turn back.

Forget the Crew. Same stuff, different year. To truly enjoy the game without the "big-business" aspects, enjoy a drive to Madison to take in a Mallards game. You won't be disappointed!

I will give you some advice after being a huge fan for the last 30 years. Never expect the Brewers to do anything. This way you are never disappointed with the results. I picked out my games for next year while watching them last night. I suspect that team will actually be worse then this years collection of underachievers but I always enjoy myself at the game even if they are not contenders.

Meanwhile, the die hards root for The Brewers for all games, slump or not. You should have sold/handed over the tickets to friends/family who wanted to go, regardless of the teams standings.

Story of the 09 brewer year...Mad excitement leading into the season, huge kick in the groin halfway through. 35 of us bought the 9 pack together and all sat in the same section. Tailgating, cubs fans, and victories in the beginning of the year and it was great. Suddenly, one of the most catastrphic downturns in franchise history. Nobody likes going to a game when your team is down 7 runs before you even make it in from the parking lot. tough to get behind a team that is already looking toward the 2010 year. I'll take my Brewer t-shirt with the old logo, and stick it in the drawer for next year.....They'll be back...hopefully with a new pitching posse.
