MILWAUKEE -- OnMilwaukee.com, LLC celebrates its fourth anniversary this week. The Milwaukee-based Internet company launched the city's online daily magazine Sept. 1, 1998.

With 250,000 people visiting the Web site monthly, OnMilwaukee.com has grown into the area's second largest publication. The company will mark this milestone with a party, open to the public, Thurs., Oct. 17 at Frauchiger's Cheese Store and Tavern on Milwaukee St. More details will be available in coming weeks.

"This is truly a wonderful anniversary," said company co-founder and co-owner Andy Tarnoff. "The last 12 months have been the most turbulent ever in our industry, but we stuck together and rode out the storm. We're happy to be here and look forward to many more exciting years."

OnMilwaukee.com employs 11 of the city's best writers, programmers, designers and sales people. Each day, they create and serve unique entertainment-based content in a way that -- until OMC hit the scene -- Milwaukee's never experienced.

"There's something special and different about the way we do things at OnMilwaukee.com," said Jeff Sherman, co-owner and co-founder. "Others imitate, but none succeed in capturing Milwaukee's vibe, spirit and sense of cool community the way we do."

Four years is virtual lifetime in the dot com business, says co-owner and co-founder Jon Krouse. "Like every other media company in town, times were tough after last September. However, we had a great summer and are poised for an even better fall. I'm proud to say the state of our company is solid," said Krouse.

In the last year, OnMilwaukee.com has entered into several partnerships, including a joint venture called RummageWorks, LLC. The new business powers OnMilwaukee.com's successful new Personals and Classifieds, and supplements the company's existing revenue streams of advertising sales, Web design and eCommerce.

OnMilwaukee.com is Milwaukee's daily magazine and most comprehensive Internet City Guide. Featuring more than 1,400 bars and restaurants, classifieds and personals, festival guides, a live movie guide, online movie ticketing, weekly polls, traffic cameras, restaurant reviews, an event calendar, weather, news, exclusive features and much more, OnMilwaukee.com is a one stop shop for creative, local and easy-to-use Milwaukee information.
