Tim Kent of Elm Grove has completed the first leg of the Around Alone global sailing competition in third place. Check it out as The Milwaukee Sports Buzz does some buzzin' around several sports stories with local ties.

Elm Grove's Kent sets out around the globe ... alone!
Tim Kent of Elm Grove launched his Everest Horizontal sailboat last week in the longest race in the world. Kent is competing in the Around Alone sailing race, which covers 28,775 miles and literally circumnavigates the world.

Local musician sails into unique niche
At first glance, he looks more like Santa Claus, but he's actually David H.B. Drake, one of Milwaukee's most interesting folk singers. Drake's songs speak about the history of Lake Michigan and the fascinating boats that were a part of it.
