On the town in Milwaukee: Sipping something local
Locally, you'll find drinks, cocktails and beers screaming "Wisconsin" each time a bartender goes to make the pour. You might not find them all at the Fair, but you'll find a decent mixture and if you're really looking for one of these local cocktails, just step just down the street or into a neighbor's house where prideful locals will happily educate you on Wisconsin favorites.

Old Fashioned delights with modern comfort food
Although the demise of The Social marks the end of an era when it comes to modern-day comfort food in Milwaukee, a recent visit to the Old Fashioned, 23 N. Pinckney St., next door to the acclaimed L'Etoile, on the capitol square, suggests that in Madison, familiar favorites are as comforting as ever. While the wind whistled around the capitol and temps grew colder and colder, the Old Fashioned was packed to the gills, lights down low, conversation humming.
