Daily dish: Supa Barbetta recycles stale bread
Eldina Long and Erica Malan of Italy's Gruppo Teatro Angrogna, from the town of Angrogna in the Val Pellice west of the Piedmontese capital of Turin, were at Festa Italiana last summer to do demonstrations of the classic "cucina povera" soup from their area.

Drummer Massimo Cusato leads his own group, QuartAumentata, which plays music based in Calabrian tradition and spiced with international flavors. QuartAumentata plays at Festa Italiana, which focuses on Calabrian culture this year.

Some of it may sound dated to our ears, but, hey, it’s still here, being played around the world.
