The best bar in the world is close to home
It's bar month at OnMilwaukee.com and I won't likely get out to more than a couple bars all month in my leisure time. The result is that my bar of choice is the liquor cabinet and the refrigerator at home. While the image of someone drinking at home is sometimes perceived as a sad one, I rarely feel blue when I pop the cap on a Stella or pull the cork out of a beloved Barbera in my kitchen and enjoy it with dinner.

The race for Best Patio, 2008, was close. But, the Milwaukee Ale House won out over 2007 winner Trocadero. The Ale House, with its picturesque location on the Milwaukee River, gives diners and drinkers a spectacular backdrop to conduct the pursuit of merriment. (The craft beer selection doesn't hurt, either).

The Milwaukee Art Museum’s lakefront patio opens Saturday, May 27, offering one of the only lakefront dining options in Milwaukee. The restaurant will offer a new menu with everything from burgers to chicken alfredo and beer and wine this summer season.
