Gig roundup: Green River Ordinance gets grassroots support
It was a long way to go, but Fort Worth quintet Green River Ordinance got there in a short period of time. The band's name refers to the colloquial name for laws banning door-to-door sales. So it's ironic that a groundswell of support led to an opening slot for Bon Jovi in Dallas just a couple years after the band recorded its debut in its church basement.

If you haven't seen one of the Playing for Change: Peace Through Music videos circulating on the Internet, you're missing a fun project that promotes peace and cooperation. This globe-trotting phenomenon arrives in Milwaukee on Wednesday, Nov. 4 for a show at The Pabst Theater.

Gig roundup: E*I*E*I*O makes a rare appearance
Who knows? Maybe they've all got too much other stuff to do. Maybe they don't get along that well. Maybe they just understand the laws of supply and demand. Whatever the reason, Milwaukee's landmark proto-alt.country rockers E*I*E*I*O play only very infrequent gigs.

Gig roundup: Mulvey ups the ante for third annual bike tour
Last year when singer-songwriter Peter Mulvey did his bike.concert tour of Wisconsin, he blogged about it almost daily for OnMilwaukee.com. This year, he expanded his route and brought a filmmaker along for the third annual tour. Mulvey returns to Milwaukee for a gig this week at The Pabst.
