I remember the first time I heard the voice of David Lowery, now the lead singer of Cracker. So when I heard that Cracker was returning to Milwaukee for a 10 p.m. Summerfest show Saturday, I knew this was the one concert I wouldn't miss.

Long-awaited Sparklehorse disc has Wisconsin ties
The fourth Sparklehorse record -- "Dreamt for Lightyears in the Belly of a Mountain -- is nearly upon us. The disc, produced by Mark Linkous (aka Sparklehorse) at his home studio, was engineered by former Milwaukeean Alan Weatherhead. And it was mixed, in part, at Madison's Smart Studios.
