"Beatlemania Now" has special meaning to some
As a kid I was a huge Beatles fan. So, in summer 1977, my mom loaded me and my brother onto the D train and took us to see "Beatlemania" on stage at Broadway's legendary Winter Garden Theater. But there's another Milwaukee with much stronger ties to the show. A related show, "Beatlemania Now" comes to Milwaukee this week.

Roll up for Beatallica's "Masterful Mystery Tour"
Beatallica is one of Milwaukee's longest-running musical gags. But the thing is, if you've seen the band or heard one of its three CDs, you know that the concept - that of marrying the music and style of the Beatles with the music and style of Metallica - is a winner and that it takes a lot of skill, humor and cojones to make it work.

Fab '60s Ricochettes bounce back onto local scene
The Ricochettes, a Beatles-inspired pop group that performed in area clubs and recorded a few singles in the mid-1960s, has reformed after a 40-year hiatus and plays at Serb Hall on Friday, Aug. 22.

Despite a single gig here in at the Arena in1964 and much-recounted stories of fans besieging the Fab Four's Wisconsin Avenue hotel -- now Marquette's Mashuda Hall dormitory -- Milwaukee and the Beatles don't really have much shared history. Or do they?
