On the town in Milwaukee: What's your local hotspot?
There is plenty of neighborhood pride on the East Side, in Riverwest and in Bay View. Not to mention outlying suburbs. But, I was a bit of a junkie for Bay View last weekend. Here's a take Bay View spots, and a question: do you live where you like to hang out or do you like to hang out where you live?

Common Council takes aim at problem nightclubs
The Milwaukee Common Council Licenses Committee wants to crack down on continued violence and disturbances in front of area dance clubs. Two of the clubs targeted are the Ladybug Club Downtown and Rain in Walker's Point.

The pageantry of election day
I really enjoy voting. I know that my individual vote is insignificant, and even had I been a Floridian in 2000, it wouldn't have mattered. But unlike jury duty, mowing the lawn on the other side of the sidewalk or plugging parking meters, voting is the one civic duty that still fires me up.
