Democrats should be outraged

Well Dems, you got your wish. Barack Obama was elected by a significant mark and now the progressive psudo-socialist utopia you envisioned can be implemented, right?

Sorry kids, you were duped. All that swooning and screaming as if the Barackstar were some sort of boyband yielded, well, the status quo. Democratic rank and file are beginning to fill cabinet seats and suddenly the government seems very much the same doesn't it?

I know, you were expecting a gum-drop and sugar-plum land of free health care, education, and infrastructure. A place where the wealthy paid all your bill with a smile as you mocked them from your goverment subsidized jobs. But think again. What you did was elect a man who was too young and to wet behind the ears to even realize the political debts he would have to pay back and now the puppeteers have taken hold.

What's shocking is that not a word is being uttered by his electorate. He hasn't even taken office yet and already all that 'hope and change' is out the window.

Have fun with Clinton Administration 2.0!, and let this be a lesson learned.

The Final Saga in the Favre Soap Opera

So, here it is.. a Brett Favre blog. I know deep down no one wants it, but we're all so emotionally involved we can't turn away.

Let's face it, tensions were tight in Green Bay. A hard-nosed player clashed with a no-nonsense coach and out came the worst possible result. Brett Favre was the best thing to happen to this state in the last decade and a half. In the wake of terrible gubenatorial leadership, a do-nothing Senator and a leftist nut-job Senator, increasing budget deficits, etc., Wisconsin did what it does best - party. And what better excuse to party than wathcing the smallest market team in the history of major sports beating the tar out of power-house franchises every year.

Favre was Mississippi born and bred but would have done just fine growing up in Wisconsin. He had the same vices so many of us do, and even some very few can relate to. He drank too much, even on game nights whilst in college, threw a lot of interceptions and rarely apologized. But it never mattered, because he won football games. He gave us all something to be very proud of. The man is a football genius. He has the uncanny ability to mentally analyze a defense in nano-seconds and if he can't he produces magic with his arm no other human can or has. That's right, I said it... Favre is the best there ever was and you know it. I know a lot of people are bitter right now and don't want to give Favre his due but it's absolutely true. No one has ever performed at the level he did for so long.

I don't want to minimize other quarterbacks accomplishments. Marino was brilliant, Montana ever consistent and Tom Brady is at the top of the sport right now. But none of those guys, nor anyone else for that matter could have done what Favre did. Marino never won a Super Bowl, Montana won A LOT but his team was stacked (see the greatest reciever of all time) and Brady.... well let's face it, he could go out there blindfolded, hike the ball, wait in his rediculously well protected pocket for 20 seconds, throw the ball in the air, and Randy Moss will go up and grab it. 50 thouchdown season, no sweat.

The point is, when we all look back we're going to realize what a mistake it was to let him go. When you have access to talent like that you let him play, no matter what.... no matter what. I'm reminded of an interview Steve Kerr did when Michael Jordan came out of retirement. No one was sure of Jordan's status on the team and the reporter asked Kerr if he thought Jordan was going to start that night. Kerr, without an ounce of sarcasm replied, "generally, when there's a statue of you outside the arena, you don't come off the bench."

There's no statue of Favre yet, but there will be.
