Milwaukee travel show, for locals, by locals

With the gas prices at record highs and the warm weather finally arriving, it's the perfect time to become a tourist in our hometown.

Editors and writers at onmilwaukee.com, as well as many savvy readers, have already encouraged this creative approach to local "travel". Right now, on MATA Community Media TV Channel 14, there's a 30 minute beginner's guide to Milwaukee produced by locals.

Local Idiots, Episode I: Frozen Tundra is airing regularly on MCM Channel 14.

It's the first installment of a travel show that focuses on the city of Milwaukee from an insider's perspective. This episode explores a few major Milwaukee destinations where residents can take some time out to feel like awe-inspired tourists in their own hometown. It's a look at the occasionally overlooked highlights of the city, like the splendor inside the Domes and Central Library's gorgeous architecture.

The show will also air intermittently on Milwaukee public access television. Visit the MCM website link below for upcoming show listings.
