Hello Milwaukee:

This is Nathan from Revolush.

We celebrated the first full day of summer 2008 with the city of Milwaukee at Summer Soulstice Music Festival on the beautiful east side. Aside from a brief shower, the weather was perfect -- not too hot, no too cold. Goldilocks would've loved it.

The Division BMX Stunt Team put on one hell of an exhibition, flying off the ramps on the street in front of us as we were getting our gear place on the stage. I wanted to watch more but had work to do.

Revolush went wheels-up promptly at 5, heading down our 90 minute journey of rock and roll merry-making. I think of playing drums in this band like a sport, diving into the first song as hot and ready as I can. Saturday was no exception. I felt a little winded four minutes into our 1 1/2 hour show but the pace was set. If the energy level starts out at 9, there's not place to go but 10.

When in doubt, put more out.

Normally, we haunt the clubs, so this was a different show for us. The open air, sunshine, room to move and breathe... And 90 minutes was new. We played our set list from the top down, starting and ending right on time. I was almost surprised by that, but this band rehearses with a purpose and preparation pays.

The crowd was great, as expected. The band was excited to see everyone stopping by to check out our act and we look forward to doing it for you again very soon.

I knew Summer Soulstice was going to be good. It was great.

We've got a couple of other performances scheduled: July, 12 in Oconomowoc, WI at Roosevelt Park as part of their Summer Concert Series and on August 2nd at Shank Hall in Milwaukee, where we'll be sharing the bill with my friend, Owen Sartori. Please mark your calendars. We'll provide details about these dates on this soon.

Cheers,

N
