According to the company and several local real estate sources, Dave & Buster's, founded in 1982 and headquartered in Dallas, is indeed bringing its high energy restaurant / entertainment concept to the Milwaukee-area.
D&B's will open at 2201-2215 N. Mayfair Rd., near the Ewald dealership space and a one-acre strip between the auto dealer and the DSW buidling. The location is kitty-corner to Mayfair Mall.
"We are looking at the Milwaukee area, and should be open in about a year and one half," said Kristen Banks at Dave and Buster's in Chicago.
D&B's currently operates 48 locations in the United States, including two in Chicagoland (Chicago and Addison). This is the company's first location in Wisconsin.
Dave & Buster's, Inc., usually locates near large shopping and entertainment centers like Mayfair. Its "Million Dollar Midway" should be a major regional destination with its interactive simulators, virtual reality systems, traditional carnival-style games, video games, pocket billiards and other entertainment options.
The company is not only growing its locations, but its finances. Total revenues for its first quarter in 2008 increased 5.2 percent over 2007 to $142.5 million.
"We are excited that the sales growth and margin momentum from last year continued through the first quarter of 2008," said Steve King, chief executiveo fficer, in a news release. "We are particularly encouraged by our exceptionally strong amusement sales."

Don't worry, there are plenty of people around that area who will ruin it.

If you look at most Dave & Buster's, they do not have downtown locations. A similar chain called Jillian's tried downtown locations in Columbus and Cincinnati and they failed. As for this place becoming a hot spot for "trouble", it all depends on how they handle it. IPic at Bayshore has done a very good job of making an adult only establishment. I don't think Dave & Buster's would have have gotten where they are by not having complete control over their stores.

Yes, morons indeed!! The things is, they need to have a sign on the door that simply reads: If you enjoy being disrespectful to other people, swearing profusely and loudly, pretending that you're more important than everyone else; if you are selfish, rude, obnoxious, can't hold your liquor, enjoy starting and participating in fights, are looking for trouble, can't wait your turn in a line or are basically immature moron, this establishment is not for you. The best way to insure that we can stay in business, keep costs reasonable is if you mind your own business and behave in an a respectable manner. Thanks However, since we live in a politically correct, "how dare you say those things, it's so racial presumtious" kind of society, that sign will never be posted. I'll keep an open mind about this location though, as I've been to the D&B in Chicago a few times (the one on Clark St., near downtown) and there were some shady characters but they seemed to mind there own business. The extra security probably helped! :-)

Good, now when I see a D&B commercial, it'll actually mean something to the Milwaukee market, instead of having me wonder where the heck a D&B even is
