As part of Germanfest, this annual event features wiener dog races and a costume contest. Registration for this annual event is open now through July 10 for up to fifty racers and fifty costume contestants. The day's activities include registration, participation in the German Fest Parade, a costume contest, the "Blessing of the Doxies," and an awards presentation.

$10 to register with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Midwest Dachshund Rescue. Free doggy day care by Central Bark Doggy Day Care on the Summerfest grounds at Dachshund Park. Dog owners must bring their Doxies' travel carte and water and are required to keep the dogs at the day care site when visiting other parts of the grounds.
