I honestly believe Fratellos Waterfront Restaurant was my worst dining experience ever! I know that sounds harsh, but as a business man who has a client dinner once or twice a month and a romantic dinner out with my gorgeous girlfriend once a week, it is fair to say that I eat in fine Milwaukee, Chicago and Minneapolis restaurants 75 times a year. And this was by far the worst ever! Period! As I pulled up to the corner of the building, I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by a valet to park my car. As we entered the restaurant, I notice a modern and trendy dcor. I was very hopeful I had found a new restaurant to add to my list of favorites. A list that includes Crazy Water, Roots, The Pasta Tree and Di Carlos Tratoria. But my optimistic expectations were soon shattered. The waitress informed us that the Cab Rangoon Appetizer included 6 wontons hand filled with fresh crab. We soon received 4 empty wanton. No lie. Empty! I get better Crab Rangoon at Super #1 Chinese on Layton. Or any other low cost Chinese restaurant for that matter. Then things turned from a laughable appetizer to a disgustingly under cooked grouper for my girlfriend and a grossly overcooked hard brick of Ahi Tuna for me. Yes, this is the Ahi Tuna that is advertised as seared to medium rare in the menu. I was wondering why such a great location was so empty on a warm Fall Friday evening. Now I know. I, like most who have gone before me, will never return.

Moved from Boston a few months ago. Fratellos has been the best place so far. More of what I am used to. Relaxed.

I had an equally disappointing experience at Fratello's a while back. The service was slow, and the food was just below par. I tried an italian chicken dish, and it was completely covered in an overpowering balsamic reduction that destroyed the flavors of anything else on the plate. All you could taste was the sour vinegar flavor of the reduction. The servers were pleasant, and the staff apologetic, but overall it was discouraging enough to turn me off from dining there in the future. I suppose I'd hit the deck on a nice sunny day for cocktails, but I won't be headed there for dinner anytime soon.

We wanted to celebrate our anniversary and thought about Fratello's due to its great location. A nice and romantic dinner by the water, right? We went outside and nobody came to serve us. I had to call the waiter twice to get a menu, which was nothing too impressive, by the way. Then we waited for 30 min and finaly decided to leave. Not even water was brought to our table. We didn't see the manager or hostess on the way out to complain. In the end we had a great time at Swig's. I wish there was a REAL restaurant established on such a nice location.

I def. agree with most of the people. Menu was to big , food dissapointed me , it was not what I expected very poor quality for the price paid. Staff is very friendly so I think the problem is in the "KITCHEN". With so many good restaurants to choose from in the Third Ward area Fratello's life will be short lived.. good luck !
