The tables are occupied by families, couples, and workmen in Dickies and workboots -- all speaking Spanish. But El Cabrito ("The Goat") warmly welcomes Anglophones who have to ask for translations of the daily specials.
The food is homey, plentiful and tasty. It's not glitzy and it's not showy, but it's good.
Open daily from 7 a.m. (breakfast is served) until 10 p.m. Open until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
El Cabrito also runs two Loncheras (Mitchell Street and Muskego Avenue, 414-510-6227; 30th Street and Greenfield Avenue, 414-218-9798) from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.
