October is the third annual Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delicious features, chef profiles, unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2009."
Yanni's Steaks, Chops and Seafood, 540 E. Mason St., closed in August, 2008.
But, rumors have been surfacing for the past several months that a local owner is taking over the space and will open another steakhouse in this high profile corner spot at Van Buren and Mason Streets in Downtown Milwaukee.
I don't have confirmation yet, but since it's day one of OnMilwaukee.com's Dining Month I thought I'd start it off with some buzz.
Milwaukee's ever-changing restaurant scene is never boring. So, especially during Dining Month, if you have news or buzz about the area's dining scene please send us an e-mail or use the OnMilwaukee.com Talkbacks.
And, as always, get out and eat in Milwaukee.

Way to go, B. I'm proud to be your brother, and wish you the greatest success. The buzz is certainly starting. Every day, more and more people ask about it. Your work ethic and honesty will serve you well. pfan, keep an open mind, and you'll see that it's not "another steakhouse".

I think it's about time that something new is coming to the Yanni's location. With the economy the way it is now, I'm glad to see somebody is creating jobs for our city. Our family and friends look forward to dining there.

I'm glad something is going in and we don't have yet another empty spot downtown. Let's wait and see what the menu is. I'm sure it will distinguish itself in it's own way.
