What is a blog? For us it is a short blurb that we write when the mood strikes us. It can be first person, funny or informative. In short, a blog is whatever we want it to be. Published Sept. 23, 2008 at 3:48 p.m.

Drew Olson's story about Habanero got me thinking about the places I keep meaning to try. Although we dine out more than a lot of people we know, we have a pretty strict budget and that means our options can be limited. But also limiting is the fact that we want to make sure we enjoy where we go, so we tend to go back to the same places. We're not unique in this.

Here are five places I keep meaning to try (in no particular order) ...

  • Coast. I've heard good things, but I was only there for a buffet-style appetizers thing when it first opened, so that's no way to judge a place.
  • Transfer. When we lived in Bay View there was Lulu, DeMarini's and Azteca and not a whole lot else for dining options. Since we left, a ton of places have opened, including this one a little north in the Clocktower Acres neighborhood (I learned that fact recently and couldn't wait to get it into a blog!).
  • Nanakusa. We're not big Japanese food eaters, although we like it when we do have it. Some day.
  • Eddie Martini's. This is priced out of our league. But we'll get there someday, I just know it.
  • Habanero. Like Drew, I pass this eatery all the time. Maybe next time, I'll stop and have a bite.
Tell me what you think of these places and share some of the places you keep meaning to get to using the talkback feature below.
