Late last month, Tazza Pizzeria, 5010 W. Vliet St., closed its doors.

Still donning the giant coffee cup on the roof, a remnant of former occupant Milwaukee Coffee Company, Tazza Pizzeria fell victim to the tough economic times and sliced its last pizza.

Owner and Washington Heights resident Matt Bohlmann opened the neighborhood restaurant in August 2007. The space is currently unoccupied.

This news is so sad. It was such good pizza and I think the best garlic bread in town. I wish them all the best.

Its not the location. The food just wasn't that good. It wasn't bad, but look around. There are a LOT of pizza places. You have to stand out some how.
