Laissez Faire, the small French bistro-inspired deli and restaurant at 724 N. Old World 3rd St., is closed.
Co-owners Adam Majewski and Tom Schultz opened the eatery in the old Maxie's diner spot late last summer to offer Downtown lunchers an upgrade from the Grand Avenue's food court options.
OnMilwaukee.com's food writer Amy Schubert gave the restaurant a favorable review in February of this year.
Laissez Faire's last day was April 18 and Majewski says theh "tough winter" was a major source of his restaurant's downfall.
There is a for-lease sign on the front windows, though there is no news at this time about future tenants.
