Don Quijote closed yesterday, July 10.
Owner Elena Salas opened the Spanish restaurant on Downer Avenue in 1996 and helped introduce Spanish tapas to Milwaukee. In 2003 she moved to Walker's Point and opened at 704 S. 2nd St.
The menu featured authentic Spanish dishes like gazpacho, paella and tortilla Espanola.
