An East Side favorite, Beans & Barley serves up breakfast between 9-11 a.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on weekends. Selections include pancakes, French toast, quiche, eggs, omelets, breakfast burritos, biscuits and more.

Benji's Delicatessen & Restaurant

Open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., they serve a good Yiddish, deli-style breakfast in a '50s-like setting. It hasn't changed a bit over the years. Offerings include Hoppel Poppel and fried Matzoh.

Brady Street Pharmacy

Yes, it is part pharmacy, part convenience store, part cafe. One side of the pharmacy is dedicated to serving breakfast to daily regulars and those looking for a fast, greasy morning start.

Broadway Cafe & Bakery

This little bakery supplies many of the wholesome homemade breads you find in other eateries around town. Open early (6:30 a.m.) on weekdays and a little later on the weekends (8 a.m.), the cafe serves a smaller-scale breakfast than the brunch menu, including made-to-order omelets, creme brulee oatmeal, and mini-morning bun french toast from 7 to 11 a.m.

Open daily from 7 a.m.-2 p.m., they serve delicious traditional breakfast fare during those hours. The Plaza Scrambler is a a great buy and will keep you full well into the afternoon.

Cafe Hollander

Its great to hear of new places bringing the sit down breakfast back. Cafe Hollander serves a full breakfast menu of Danish twists from 8 to 11 a.m. daily. And even though they begin the lunch menu at 11 a.m., a few breakfast specialities carry over throughout the day.

Cedarburg Coffee Pot

A downtown Cedarburg favorite for more than half a century, they serve breakfast any time of day, starting at 5 a.m.

Comet Cafe

After being remodeled in the middle of 2005, this cafe turned restaurant is also offering breakfast plus there's free bacon on Sundays. Opened at 7 a.m. weekdays and an hour later on weekends.

Previously named JA's Cafe, Glen's Cafe has taken over the duty of serving up breakfast to locals throughout the northside. The menu is stacked with everything from eggs to omelets to cereals and specials.

John's Sandwich Shoppe

John's serves up breakfast 7 days a week in this 1950's style cafe. Offering the basics as well as a few added specialties, John's is the perfect place to combine coffee, breakfast and the paper.

The Knick

Right next door to the the Knickerbocker on the Lake, the Knick offers breakfast Saturdays 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and brunch on Sundays 9 a.m.-3p.m. The list of offerings is filled with eggs, omelettes and pancakes; it's hard to choose what to eat. A good choice is the rich banana pecan pancakes.

Ma Fischer's Family Restaurant

Another staple of the East Side dining scene, Ma Fischer's is open 24 hours and serves breakfast anytime. Their extensive menu includes traditional breakfast dishes at reasonable prices.

If you like pancakes, it doesn't get much better than this. A national chain originating out of Portland, the Original Pancake House gives you options upon options for pancake style, topping and flavor. Oh, and if you just can't decide, they have a full egg and meat menu as well.

Ted's Ice Cream and Restaurant

Ted's is the ideal diner. The s-shaped counter, homemade pies, open air range and swiveling stools remind diners of small town hospitality. Serving breakfast seven days a week, Ted's is cheap, delicious and memorable.

Wooden Goose

If you stop at the Wooden Goose for breakfast, make sure to try the delicious Goose Bun. Its a cinnamon roll topped with cream cheese, butter and vanilla frosting.
