The votes are in, and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best: Eat & Drink, 2007. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.
The Bartolotta Restaurant Group's Lake Park Bistro is known locally -- and in other cities as well -- as Milwaukee's authentic French dining experience. The cuisine is elegant and rich and the dessert menu is certainly no exception.
If not completely stuffed after chef Adam Siegel's veau roti a la Bordelaise (veal tenderloin in a Bordelaise sauce) or canard "deux façon" a la sauce marchands de vin (duck two ways with red wine sauce), diners can choose from decadent dessert options such as banana bread pudding with a caramel sauce and chocolate mousse sweetened with crushed praline and accented by a saffron vanilla sauce and homemade mint ice cream.
Of course, there are slightly "tamer" selections, such as peach melba, which combines sweet fruit with raspberry sauce, homemade vanilla ice cream and freshly baked lemon poundcake.
There are just two words to keep in mind while dining at Lake Park Bistro: Save room.
