The votes are in, and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best: Eat & Drink, 2007. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.
This "super bar" keeps winning Milwaukee's best bar food for a reason. They've taken the greasy grub you expect at a bar and elevated it to include lean ostrich burgers, grilled portabella mushroom sandwiches, Cajun catfish fillets and quite a bit more. And if you want straight-up bar burgers, Hooligan's doesn't disappoint.
Hoolie's is an East Side staple that's served more than one generation of hungry and thirsty Milwaukeeans. With televisions lining the bar downstairs and a more casual, less bar feel upstairs, it's a slightly more refined way to watch a Packers, Brewers or Bucks game -- especially if you're hungry for brunch, lunch or dinner. During the summer, eat outside and take in the view of the fashionable East Side (and wave to us at OnMilwaukee.com, kitty corner from the restaurant).
Their beer selection is plentiful, too, with esoteric micro and macro brews always on tap.
