The votes are in, and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best: Eat & Drink, 2007. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.

Peter Sciortino's Bakery, a Brady Street institution for decades, has little competition, according to OnMilwaukee.com readers, who again voted it Milwaukee's best bakery.

Only Simma's even reached double digits among the runners up. In addition to the vote-getters below, five percent of readers voted for a number of other bakeries in the "other" category, including Amaranth, Alterra, City Market, Grebe's and Aggie's.

The smell of fresh bread wafts out of Sciortino's Bakery every morning, reminding Milwaukee of Brady Street's Italian community. But what really tempts at Sciortino's are the cannoli and sumptuous Italian cookies, tiramisu, cakes and other pastry.
