A recent conversation in the OMC offices sparked this week's Sunday Sound-off question. With its French roots, wine (not wine cooler) selection, shopping and Cathedral Square Park location, is Bastille Days more sophisticated than the other festivals -- specifically those held on the Summerfest grounds? Or, is Bastille Days just another outdoor drunk fest with crepes?

E-mail us at soundoff@staff.onmilwaukee.com and if picked, we'll post your response next Sunday. Only submissions that include your full name and where you live will be considered.

Last week's question: If IKEA came to Milwaukee, where should it go?

It would be in Oconomowoc or Johnson Creek. They need the land and the population draw from Milwaukee and Madison.

I would like an IKEA just about anywhere north of the border. It's fantastic to go there in Schaumburg and buy all that neat stuff, and eat, too, on the cheap. It's not cost effective to drive to Ill. with all the tolls, and do any serious IKEA-ing.

I haven't been to where Northridge used to be in a while. If that hasn't been tagged for development, I think it would be a good spot since it would also attract folks from north of Milwaukee. The area needs a little sprucing up and what better than a big blue building. There's already a big blue building Downtown. We don't need another one.

IKEA should go in the nearest dumpster ... the furniture is crap.

Okay, Out with it! Do YOU know something we don't? This is a rumor I have been hearing for the last year.

Downtown. It's perfect. Why not?!

In my humble opinion, I think it should go in Menomonee Valley. Short drive from a few colleges and many, many new condos or loft spaces in the area.
