People who live in Milwaukee are hearty folk. We endure subzero winter temperatures, and just a few months later, find ourselves in the midst of stifling heat and humidity. Nope, Milwaukee is not a place for people who want consistent weather.
People always say Milwaukee is an awesome place to be in the summertime -- but is it really? In general, are we friendlier to one another -- and in better moods -- when the sun shines and temperatures are higher?
Are people friendlier in Milwaukee during spring and summer?
Yes, we are way friendlier in summer. Milwaukeeans wait a long time for spring and summer weather, and when it finally comes around, we are in higher spirits. Hence, we are more likely to chat with a stranger in line at the grocery store or let another driver cut in front of us. We are less likely to quarrel with family and perform better at work when the weather is nice.
No, we are not friendlier in summer. Summer in Milwaukee is overrated. There is more crime during a Milwaukee summer, which makes it a less appealing time of year for many people. Plus, the summer weather in Milwaukee isn't as great as it was a couple of decades ago. And as far as work goes, warm weather is distracting and makes us less productive because we just want to be outdoors.
