Ninety members of the New York Police Department visit Milwaukee next week for the annual Downtown St. Patrick's Parade. Mayor Tom Barrett and other local leaders will join parade organizers, The Westown Assocation and the Shamrock Club of Wisconsin, on Thursday, March 8 at the Shops of Grand Avenue for a noon event that will officially welcome NYC's finest.
The policemen have a full itinery that includes a Miller Brewery tour, walking in the parade, meeting with area leaders and several stops at local Irish bars.
The parade, that OnMilwaukee.com is a media sponsor or, steps off at noon from the corner of Old World 3rd Street and Wisconsin Avenue, just outside of the Shops of Grand Avenue where parking is available for just $1 the morning of the parade. The garage is located on 2nd Street between Wisconsin and Michigan Avenues.
