Thurs., Oct. 4, marked the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce's (MMAC's) 12th annual Milwaukee Night in Washington. With more than 300 in attendance, this was the most successful Milwaukee Night in history.

It was a great opportunity to showcase Milwaukee to area delegates in a setting outside the city.

Hosted by Mayor John O. Norquist and County Executive Tom Ament, other attendees included Alds. Jeff Pawlinski and Mike D'Amato, Common Council President Marvin Pratt, Governor Scott McCallum and Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy G. Thompson, as well as all Wisconsin Congressional delegation members.

"We use this event every year to say thank you to our delegation for working hard to represent Milwaukee and Wisconsin. We also use it to showcase our wonderful Milwaukee companies," said Tim Sheehy, MMAC President. "This is a great way for our members to get in touch with our delegation and their staff all at once," added Phil Levis, MMAC's Governmental Affairs assistant director.

The event included a short program with Tim Sheehy, Congressman Sensenbrenner, Mayor Norquist, County Executive Ament and Governor McCallum.

A Milwaukee Night in Madison will be held next spring for businesses to meet face-to-face with state officials. Another Milwaukee Night in D.C. will also be held next fall.

The event had more than 20 sponsors including OnMilwaukee.com.
