Summerfest is going local this summer, at least as far as its coffee house vendor is concerned. Mocha ... A Coffee Bistro - the café owned by Johnny Vassallo - will replace the Starbucks on the festival grounds.
Mocha doesn't roast local beans for its coffee, it uses beans from Las Vegas Coffee Roasters. But there's no questioning that Vassallo is one of the city's finest entrepreneurs so this partnership with Summerfest continues his commitment to "Mo"waukee.
Summerfest and Vassallo have agreed to a three-year contract for the restaurant, which, during non Summerfest season, is located at 124 W. Wisconsin Ave.
"Johnny Vassallo and his employees have proven themselves time and time again in Milwaukee. They serve outstanding fresh products. We're thrilled to have them join the Summerfest family," said Don Smiley, President and CEO of Summerfest.
Summerfest 2005 runs from June 30 - July 10 at the Henry Maier Festival Grounds.
