Milwaukee County Board chairman Lee Holloway will meet Thursday afternoon with AirTran chairman and CEO Joseph Leonard, at Leonard's request. According to a statement issued by Holloway Thursday morning, the two will meet to "discuss how both airlines can benefit Milwaukee County."
"Midwest Airlines is the largest air carrier at Milwaukee County's General Mitchell International Airport," Holloway said in the statement. "We provided County-backed financial support to help with Midwest's restructuring in 2003. We have a vested interest in seeing Midwest and/or AirTran continue as a valuable member of our business community."
Holloway and Leonard will brief the media on what transpired at the meeting in a press conference at the County Courthouse, 901 N. 9th St., at 5 p.m. Thursday.
